Professor Andy Walters Appointed to REF 2029 Panel
We’re proud to share that Professor Andy Walters, PDR’s Director of Research and Professor of User-Centred Design at Cardiff Metropolitan University, has been appointed to the REF 2029 Art and Design: History, Practice and Theory Sub-panel.
The Research Excellence Framework (REF) is the UK’s national system for assessing the quality and impact of research across universities. Andy’s appointment is a fantastic recognition of his expertise and leadership in design research, and it reflects the strength of PDR’s contribution to both academic and applied research.
“I’m super pleased to be joining the REF 2029 panel alongside colleagues from Cardiff Met. I’ll be contributing to sub-panel 32, Art and Design: History, Practice and Theory, drawing on the research, practice, and impact we’re known for at PDR. It’s a great opportunity to help shape how design research is recognised across the UK, and I’m proud to represent both PDR and Cardiff Met in this process.”
